From Fi: "My technique is a little unusual...and has evolved over many years and I'd love to share it with you, share my short cuts and they will help you think about how to develop your own style, tap into your creative side and learn a technique that is flexible and filled with possibilities "

Fi's new format workshop takes the difficulty and frustration out of many of the key aspects to developing our own creativity, our skills and our personal style.

She shares the stuff she wishes someone had told her at the start - keeping it simple - this comes down to a few key fundamentals.
She leaves her students with a stronger grasp on their own ideas and a more confident sense of creative freedom to make work that is about them and their inspiration and of their own imagination.

"I am an accidental teacher - firstly an artist who just wanted to develop a style that would be instantly recognisable as me... but also wanting a way of making my art that was always pleasurable and joyful - Sharing this journey with others has taught me that we all have a great capacity for creativity - no matter what our background or our skills - developing this is ALWAYS empowering and good - not only for each of us on a personal level, but it extends out from us into our families and our communities."

If you love playing with paint, colour and shape, you'll love this.
If you've never made the time to start - to learn or to indulge in this creative side of you - this is a great way to begin.

We will use a reliable 5 Step Process to make sure we are covering all the bases when it comes to making interesting, balanced and unique work that feels like us.

The aim of these sessions is to build confidence, have fun, meet other like-minded Art Adventurers and give you a taste of what can be achieved with a few happy accidents!
You'll learn about materials and techniques, receive notes on the process and ideally be well on your way to more confident, directed art-making at the conclusion.

Fi will demonstrate & help you create your own unique pieces using this method and of course you'll take home what you've been working on.

You may choose to focus on creating a still life arrangement, a character/animal/plant or a dynamic pattern - Maybe something imaginative or mysterious will just pop out at you. Don't worry if you have no ideas...just come with an open mind - We will show you some easy ways of working with what is already within you - to help bring out your ideas so that they can be used as future inspiration for your work.

For those with limited experience, or those who are just looking to start to play with paint - you are welcome to replicate using Fi's work for inspiration- we have pre prepared shapes/ideas to use to create your images.

"Such a simple, yet inspiring approach that encourages play, connection to the paint and your intuitive mark making to encourage authentic paintings in such a fun approachable way. I'm really taken with the technique, Fi's generousity and how she makes you feel at ease and comfortable to create but also offers advice and knowledge when needed. I would highly recommend the entire workshop experience, being able to see Fi's paintings, learn about her techniques, and her creative journey that I'm sure a lot of people can identify with and use her story to ignite your creative spark again or believe you deserve to make time for creativity.
And Inspiring to see how this technique can get everyone playing and see so many possibilities. It's all about what you can do rather than what you can't do" Kate Dunn

"Fi is a fabulous teacher, talented artist and an all round nice Lady. Had a great time and learnt a lot that will stay with me...That's what is important to me.. Thanks Fi "Janette McNab

"You make anything feel achievable and give us easy to follow steps and processes to make an exciting piece of art. What a fun and relaxing and enjoyable way to spend the day" Leith Elliot

"It was a wonderfully positive and uplifting experience. Fi Wilkie has a great personal story to tell and there are so many people with a similar experience of their creative side being denied. I learnt about myself and my need to achieve rather than to just have fun and enjoy...I think we do with is to our kids too much too...we need to get back to playing more and that was a wonderful aspect to your workshop...we played and laughed and painted"

"Your initial story of how you got to where you are today was very comforting, your presentation was relaxed and natural. The flow of the workshop was perfect. I loved every minute and felt encouraged and worthwhile. Thank you" Simone Herbst.

"I came twice - the workshop was relaxed and focused...the layering technique has really inspired me..." Caroline Juniper
