My technique is a little unusual...and has evolved over many years and I'd love to share it with you, share my short cuts and perhaps help you think about how to develop your own style.
If you love playing with paint, colour and shape, you'll enjoy this.
The aim of these session is to share and build confidence, have fun, meet other like minded Art Adventurers and give you a taste of what you can do with a few happy accidents!
ALL MATERIALS are INCLUDED, for this 4 hour, small group (max 8) session.
This workshop suits ALL AGES and ALL ABILITIES.
No experience necessary!
I will demonstrate & help you create your own unique piece using this method and of course you'll take home what you've been working on.
You may choose to focus on creating a still life arrangement, a character/animal or a portrait - Maybe something imaginative or mysterious will just pop out at you. Dont worry if you have no ideas, Ill show you some easy ways of working that will open your mind to the possibilities as you develop and explore.
This technique requires only one thing from you...that you be prepared to use your imagination!. If you can find animals in clouds - you can do this...well perhaps you can do this even if your CAN't find animals in clouds!
No matter who you are or what your background - Part of the process is about learning to unlock your mind to explore possibilities with your creative process.
There are no rights or wrongs, and no expectations.
We will be painting on primed hard board using quality, acrylics and mediums.
Included in your visit to the studio, together with morning tea and coffee is a bumper ploughman's platter to share for lunch with a glass of wine. Stay a while, discuss what you learnt, have a bite to eat before you go home.
Just BYO apron to cover up.
This workshop starts at 10 and usually we finish up around 2.30 after some lunch.

This was a special day for me, new beginnings, new approaches, a time to play and explore and very openly see what unfolds. Fi Wilkie is a great teacher, tutor and guide, articulate and expressive and so knowledgeable, utterly generous in her sharing of experience and education. She understands so much about the range of experiences that a person wanting to create might feel and how that can impact on their practice or even in the steps it might take them to begin. She sets up a vibrant space to dive straight into, without the student over-thinking or pausing for long, just doing, applying the process and continuing to move. Rather than starting with rigid, formal rules about perspective, light and shadow, colour mixing etc she starts with techniques that draws something unique from each person where they make marks and finished pieces that are so different from one another. We each left with a solid understanding of the process, how to start, how to review, how to finish, how to know when to stop and to love every stage from the plain background to the final piece. It was fun. I learnt so much. I loved painting in a studio surrounded by beautiful paintings by a wonderful artist who teaches magnificently. Thank you Fi Wilkie." Fee Webster.
